In many countries in Africa, especially Liberia, children are often squeezed into overcrowded classrooms that are falling apart or learning outside of the classrooms. According to the World Bank Report, poor education accounts for Liberia's highest loss of human capital. Liberia's education system faces several challenges, including the lack of teachers and learning materials and a disproportion of unqualified teachers, which reflects low learning outcomes.

Mana Gbokai is a small county located northwest of Liberia. The lack of electricity and running water is just the beginning of the many challenges that the villagers face. The Mana Gbokai public school facilitates the local villagers and the surrounding villages. With only three uncompleted classrooms available, multiple grades are pilled-up in one classroom. Currently, the school grade level ranges from K-6. According to the World Bank report, a child born in Liberia today can expect only 2.2 years of education by age 18.

The Mana Gbokai, Public School Project, encompasses a redevelopment and completion of school grounds, including electricity and plumbing for running water in the school bathroom and kitchen. Your donation not only helps support reconstructing school grounds but will also provide material for schools (i.e., books, paper, and pencils), students' uniforms, and trained teachers.

Every year, millions of children die from preventable and treatable causes. Immunization rates have fallen to their lowest levels in thirty years. The children who miss out on vaccinations are often from poor, underserved communities, highlighting issues of inequity. Additionally, conflicts, economic hardships, and climate change continue to jeopardize global food security. Bridgewater, in collaboration with UNICEF, is dedicated to ensuring every child has access to essential healthcare and nutrition, enabling them not just to survive, but to thrive.
